tomorrow am we are waking up, packing up the girls, and the car, and then we are going to head out for a few nights of camping!
we are going to Fort Stevens to stay in a yurt for the very first time. neither of the girls have ever been camping, and its been a while for both of us so we decided to take it slow and not mess with a tent this year :)
while we are there we will be going to Ft Clatsop which is the last fort settlement on the Lewis and Clark expedition. there is a visitors center and you can actually go inside the buildings that have been there since Lewis and Clark!!!
so Addy and i have started to talk about what our country used to look like, and what people did back then, why Lewis and Clark made the journey that they made, and who went with them, how they got there, etc.
i think we might play the Oregon Trail game on the computer soon!
unfortunately we have to leave the doggy at home with Nana and Papa. we would love to take her, but its a pet free zone at Ft Stevens and i dont want to risk getting kicked out cause of the dog. next coast trip she will go for sure! that is, if she is still with us.
She is SUCH a handful! she is very slow to learn. and is pretty wild. she is jumping up on the counters and eating the dinner thats being cooked, or climbing onto the table to eat Addys food while she takes a potty break. she HAS food! she enjoys her dog food, and she gets dog treats, to help facilitate training. its not like she is starving. she is just sneaky. and the human food makes her sick.
she is also way bigger than my parents dogs. and she wants to play with them. and they do NOT want to play with her. so there are some almost fights happening, daily.
we LOVE having Mudgie as our dog. and it would be great if we lived in our own home with a huge fenced backyard, and baby gates around the kitchen. but we dont. we live wth my folks, in a home with not a big enough yard, and little yappy angry dogs.
Mudge deseves a home with a big dog play buddy and lots of room to roam.
so the thought of finding her a better place for HER is on our minds. we just want whats best for the ones we love.
in other news Niamh is up to quite a few words now! she can sign Mama, Milk, hi, bye, and alldone, and is working on "more".
she can speak mama, dada, ada(for addy) nana, papa, buuh(for book), baaa(for ball) geegee(for doggy), bye bye, baby, and now, UP!
her little munchkin voice is so strong and clear as she shouts "up, up up upupup!"
Addy is sight reading so many words and can type her name, and mom, and dad, and dog!
the brans on these girls just amaze me :)
