sadness

c/p from my post on MDC:
my parents are SUCKY dog owners, so their 4yo shihtzu harmony is mean and aggressive with other dogs. she is just plain vicious, and really tries very hard to be the alpha, of everyone/thing. and my parents let her, creating this monster.
my dad just got a new dog, a puppy, cause his dog died, suddenly and tragically.
so he brings this new 10mo puppy home today, and for some strange reason, harmony doesnt try to kill it (like she has constantly been trying to do to my dog) instead, she is mothering it.
so Mudgie, my dog, who is a 10-11mo lab came over to sniff the new puppy while its on my dads lap. harmony viciously attacks mudgie, and the only thing mudgie felt she could do was bite back, so she did. she has NEVER bitten harmony back before tonight, but this is by far not the first time harmony has attacked mudgie, but it was the worst, most vicious.
when i say vicious i really do mean, that had mudgie not bitten back (i was there she didnt even really bite that hard, you could see) then i truelly believe that harmony would have caused serious injury to mudgie.

so, its my parents house.
that means they rule.
so my dog has to go.

i am really sad about this.
mudgie was only trying to protect herself using her basic animal instincts. she didnt cause harm or injury to harmony, but harmony got mudgies lip locked in her razor teeth pretty good.

so, my sweet goofy loveable dog now has to go to a home without a harmony.


update: Mudge went to a new home today. to a very wonderful couple who fell in love with her. she fell for them too.
they have both had labs all their lives til recently, and were looking for a young lab to be their furbaby.
i feel so badly about this. we thought we were going to give Mudgie a great home. instead we brought her into a situation where she got bullied. and attacked.
she has just bounced from home to home.
hopefully she finds her forever home with this new couple.
